Learn how to get multiple colors from a single natural dye pot!
In this full day workshop, we will:
- review preparing a dye bath.
- review traditional pre-mordanting with alum.
- explore after-dye mordants to shift color.
- thicken mordants to paint designs that will give you multiple colors from one dye bath!
You will leave the class with a handout describing all processes, samples of each process, and a wearable piece of fiber art handmade by you!
Students must have either attended Introduction to Natural Dyes or have previous experience with natural dyeing.
